NMLSTA is Now Accepting Candidates for 2024-2025 Board Positions
NMLSTA currently is accepting nominations for the positions of President-Elect, Secretary and two (2) members of the Board of Directors whose terms will begin in March 2024. Newly elected Board Members will be announced at the Board and Membership meeting tentatively scheduled in March 2024. All candidates must be a current NMLSTA member in good standing. For more information about positions please refer to the NMLSTA Bylaws. Complete nominations are due by February 19, 2024, extended to March 8, 2024 and electronic voting will occur later in March 2024.
President-Elect (Must be a current member in good standing for at least three years)
Secretary (Must be a current member in good standing)Term: Total of 3 Years
- Year 1: Serve as President-elect
- Year 2: Serve as President
- Year 3: Serve as Past-President
Duties of the President-elect:
- Assist the President as appropriate and necessary.
- Chair the Budget committee.
- Assist in the leadership of the Executive Team.
- Assume the duties of the President when necessary.
- Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors
Term: Total of 3 Years
Duties of the Secretary:
- Prepare and submit minutes within thirty days to the President for distribution to the Board of Directors for its revision and approval.
- Maintain and keep readily accessible a record of the minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
- File a copy of the minutes into the digital archives.
- Serve on the Executive Team.
- Transcribe the minutes in proper formatting taken by a Secretary pro tem.
- Compile an on-going account of attendance of members of the Board of Directors and its meetings, as recorded in the minutes)
- Be responsible for recording events using a virtual calendar which include dates of all the meetings, committee functions, activities of Association and Affiliates, and other events of importance to the Association
- Provide a directory of the home and work addresses and telephone numbers of all members of the Board of Directors for inclusion in the Handbook.
- Maintain all official NMLSTA archives filed chronologically, and assume other duties as the President shall specify.
- Work with the Technology and Communication Chairperson to update Google for Nonprofits Board list.
Board of Directors (Must be a current member in good standing)
Term: Total of 3 Years
Duties of Elected Directors:
Nomination Process: Deadline February 19, 2024-Extended to March 8, 2024.
A. A One-page professional vitae including: name, institution (name, job title, city, state), education, teaching experience, professional memberships, activities, and any awards.
B. A description indicating your qualifications for the position (100 words maximum).
C. Statement of your educational philosophy and goals you would like to pursue in the position for which you are applying (200 words maximum)
D. One letter of support from an administrator or colleague who knows your work.
